About North East Social Trust
The objective of North East Social Trust, which works towards the vision of imparting knowledge, education, and skills to individuals and society at an affordable rate to enhance their living status, reflects a strong commitment to social welfare and development. By focusing on affordability and accessibility, we aim to bridge the gap between education and economic opportunities, thereby empowering individuals and improving overall societal well-being.
Core Objectives:
- We promote and protect natural herbs and plants by cultivation, preservation, storage, processing, demonstration, creating botanical garden and providing necessary training.
- We promote traditional therapies like Yoga, Naturopathy, Meditation, Acupressure, Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Ayurveda, Reiki etc.
- We work for the welfare of Agricultural workers, Farmers, Unorganised Labours, Industrial Labours and Migrated Labours.
- We work against the exploitation of Animals & Birds and make sincere efforts to protect them.
- We Promotion of Viable Small Holder Agriculture through Sustainable Agricultural Practices (Organic and Traditional farming)
- We create awareness in the rural areas and all over India about protection of the environment to the farmers and their families.
- We promote traditional weaving techniques of North East India. It is one-of-a-kind in terms of ginning, spinning, and weaving techniques. The hill people weave on tiny ‘loin looms.’ Some Brahmaputra Valley tribes, including as the Dimasa Kachari, Bodo Kachari, and Mishings, utilized a type of ‘fly-shuttle loom.’
Leadership
Hemanta’s long career in the Corporate Training, Sales and marketing has given him a deep insight to educational and cultural opportunities all over the globe, particularly for the underprivileged. He took up Yoga when he was highly stressed by the highly competitive sales and marketing targets. Yoga not only relieved him of stress but also motivated him to study in detail. He did full time residential Yoga Teacher Training program in Rishikesh and dedicated his life to serve people facing from similar problems in Industry.
Hemanta is inspired by affecting change by creating contexts for people to come together and talk about what they care about.
Nabanita has a long career in teaching yoga in varies parts of Assam, North East India and She has actively conducted workshops and training camps at state levels.
Nabanita’s goal is to qualitatively enhance the life of an individual through the practice of yoga and enhance the quality of environment through human efforts.
Nabanita completed PG diploma in YOGA & NATUROPATHY from K K HANDIQUE STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY and also one year YOGA & NATUROPATHY Teacher Training (KAYAYOGI).
Gayotri has experience in Accounts Assistant at corporate level and she also teaching yoga in varies parts of Assam, North East India and She has actively conducted workshops and training camps at state levels.
Gayorti’s believes in driving financial inclusion, Igniting Social Impact. By driving financial inclusion, our organisation is actively working to bring about positive social change, ultimately improving the lives of individuals and communities.
Gayotri has done her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and Industrial Accounting from ICA(computerised accounting course). Later pursued her interest in the field of Yoga and completed PG diploma in YOGA & NATUROPATHY from K K HANDIQUE STATE OPEN UNIVERSITY.
